I’m a software engineer who builds things for the web. I also wrote a soon-to-be-published book called Junior to Senior, and I write the Beginner.dev newsletter on Substack.

After 15 years in the software industry I turned to writing as a way to help mentor software engineers build the soft-skills they need to reach the next milestone of their career.

I’ve worked at a number of companies, both public and small startups, in a number of industries including e-commerce, e-signatures, co-working, and transportation and logistics. I’ve been on large, highly efficient teams, and I’ve been the only developer keeping the lights on at times as well. I’ve seen lots of different development methodologies and processes, and codebases.
